Hello, I’m Janette…a mad single working mum of six kids.
I didn’t plan to be a single mum (who does?) and I didn’t plan on having six children when I got married at 18 – yes I was a teenage bride and a teenage mum. But life takes you on journeys that you don’t always expect. So, this is my blog about the parenting journey of being a single working mum.
Parenting is the hardest yet most rewarding job in the world. We hear that frequently but I couldn’t agree more. The challenges I encounter when juggling it all, I try to write with honesty but I also share what works for me to try and keep as many of those juggling balls in the air.
So, you’ll find posts about how to be an organised mum and tips to stay within a tight budget, as well as posts about parenting as a single mum and some musings about topical issues.
I am proud to have made Mumsnet Blog of the Day with this post:
I’m Sorry that I am a Blight on Society
which led to me posting this for the Huffington Post and I now write regularly for them:

Michael – my sensible, humorous, quirky and practical 20 year old who now lives away from home.
Alexander – a generally content 2 year old boy who knows what he wants and how to get it.
Kaiya – a beautiful, artistic, funny, individual and laid back 15 year old girl.
Nathaniel – an active, cuddly, accident-prone and jigsaw-mad 4 year old boy.
